My Thoughts

My thoughts on your Winter issue's 'Letter from the Editor.' It was just perfect.....These are the thoughts we need to hear to take comfort in the simple things in life. This past winter, I found comfort in knitting simple scarves by a roaring wood stove at night, appreciating the day to day routine and by enjoying the simple moments in my life.

When we do this, we set a huge example for our children and grandchildren. I think we have a responsibility right now, when so many families are struggling, to teach our children by way of how we are living OUR lives. We need to teach them that they do not need, nor can they have, all the material items they want any more. During these challenging economic times when so many families, are financially just getting by week to week, there exists a great opportunity to teach some important lessons and values of finding enjoyment and comfort in the simpler things in life. Hopefully, they will remember these lessons and they will last a lifetime.

Sincerely,

Pat Hughes
